Groundbreaking Phase 2 of Bell Stadium Rehabilitation
Tuesday, May 26th, 3:15PM at Bell Stadium, Bell Street between Main and Monroe

Conducted by Mayor Eldridge Hawkins, Jr. and Members of the Orange Board of Education (list)

Background:
The City of Orange is collaborating with the Orange Board of Education to rehabilitate Bell Stadium, the Board of Education’s central athletic field. With an estimated cost of 1.2 million dollars, the work is being conducted in two phases. Phase 1 was completed in late 2007 with funds from the Board of Education.  Phase 2 will be paid for with $500,000 from the State’s Green Acres Program and will take 45 days to complete with construction beginning May 26th.

Phase 1 Details

  1. Replace Football/Soccer Field
  2. New Football and Soccer Goals
  3. New Sound System
  4. New Score Board


Phase 2 Details

  1. Track Resurfacing and Restripeing
  2. Concession stand remodeled
  3. Curbing and perimeter fencing on Bell Street
  4. Parking on Bell Street
  5. Asphalting under the Bleachers
  6. Locker rooms and shower
  7. Improved Locker room ventilation
  8. Security Camera and End Zone Cameras
  9. Visual Smart Boards for teaching and film break down.
