The Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the protection of life and property from all forms of natural and man-made disasters in the City of Orange. The Office is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the township's Emergency Operations Plan, which consists of a Basic Plan and sixteen functional annexes. The office of Emergency Mnagagement coordinates the response to emergencies with the other City of Orange Emergency Service Departments, as well as federal and state agencies, private industry, and the residents of the City of Orange.

	To prevent loss of lives and property and provide emergency assistance.
Those activities which governments, organizations, and individuals develop to save lives and minimize damage.		Short and long-term activities which return all systems to normal inproved standards.
	Those activities which eliminate or reduce the probability of Disaster.

	Register with NJ-Alert NJ Alert is a service that provides state-wide email alerts on weather, Amber and Silver Alerts, large traffic accidents, Secrity Alerts and more.
	Community Emergency Response Team The CERT program helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities.
	Special Needs Registry The City of Orange Township Office of Emergency Management, in cooperation with the NJ Office of Emergency Management and the NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, maintains a statewide registry for residents with special needs.
