Statement by Mayor Eldridge Hawkins, Jr.

“ I want to thank outgoing Municipal Prosecutor Connie McGhee for her extraordinary service to the citizens of Orange and her involvement in our community. I welcome our new Municipal Prosecutor, Lindal Foster, who brings impressive credentials and understands the zero tolerance attitude required to combat the criminal element in our city.

Our Municipal Court is a critical partner with the Orange Police Department and the citizens of Orange in working to make our city safer. Many people have pointed out that when criminals are arrested and convicted, they too often are back on our streets in short order. I also get complaints that our courts are not serious enough about quality of life crimes such as prostitution, loitering, and graffiti. Lindal Foster represents the prosecutorial excellence that the people of Orange expect.”
