Mayor Hawkins Announces Hampton Terrace and Hillyer Street Roadway Improvements
 
Statement by Mayor Hawkins:
“I am pleased to announce that construction is underway on the project to resurface Hampton Terrace between Oakwood Avenue and the East Orange Border and Hillyer Street between Main Street and William Street.  This project will also provide limited curb, sidewalk, driveway aprons and drainage improvements along with handicapped accessibility.
 
The project was funded by a Community Development Block Grant of $142,000. Construction began on November 30, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by December 30, 2009.”

Statement by Arlene Kemp, Director of Public Works and Municipal Engineer:
“The City of Orange Township and the Contractor will make every effort to minimize any inconvenience associated with the construction.  We ask that all residents affected by this project be patient and adapt to the temporary conditions.  Let’s all work together to beautify the City of Orange Township.  I would like to thank all the residents for their understanding and cooperation during the construction.”
