Mayor Hawkins announces Availability of Census Jobs in Orange.  Testing for Jobs will take place at City Hall Wednesdays on December and January.

Mayor Eldridge Hawkins, Jr. has announced the opening of the Census 2010 Testing Center in Orange. 
In 2010, there will be jobs available in Orange for Census Takers, Crew Leaders, Crew Leader Assistants and Census Clerks to take on the important task of counting the people in our community. 

All applicants must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D., be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Social Security number. They must be able to pass a written basic skills test and be able to work flexible schedules.

The testing center for applicants will open on Wednesday, December 9th, and testing will take place every Wednesday in December and January at City Hall at 10 AM Sharp and 2PM Sharp. Applicants will need to bring two forms of identification including a State issued photo ID, Social Security Card, plus pen and pencil.

“I invite Orange residents to apply for census jobs. Those who work for the census are helping our city as well as providing themselves with necessary income during difficult times. Achieving an accurate census is necessary to insure that Orange obtains its fair share of federal and state funding and to assure our eligibility for important government programs.”
